Last June, the Battery Show in Stuttgart brought together more than 1,000 companies from the global battery industry. Dmitry Smirnov of HHL Leipzig attended the trade fair to interview leaders from battery manufacturers and operators in the EV sector. The 29 interviews, often candid and informal, highlighted both short-term practical concerns and long-term strategic challenges facing the European EV battery industry, providing also unique insights into issues that are rarely discussed openly.

Key topics included: What factors hinder European companies from investing in battery manufacturing? What supply chain issues do European manufacturers face? And what obstacles complicate the adoption of environmentally friendly battery solutions?

The analysis of these interviews is now being finalized and will be integrated into the SAFELOOP technology commercialization strategy.
